Our Philosophy

There are many ways to "skin a cat" but we believe that our Soundation support furniture offers superior sound quality to most others in the marketplace. We have been designing & making support furniture for over 25 years and vast experience and much experimentation has resulted in these systems as they are today. We have a policy of continual product improvement and as such reserve the right to make meaningful improvements without prior notice. Our approach is one of research & development, all testing is done with human ears in real-world listening rooms with real-world equipment. Not in anechoic chambers with measuring devices.

In addition to excellent sound quality we also believe that support furniture of this nature must be versatile enough to accommodate a large variety of equipment and circumstances. To That end, all our Soundations have integrated adjustment systems built in. Infinite height adjustment allows for versatility as far as equipment accommodation is concerned but it is also allows critical levelling of sensitive equipment.

This is where we are most unique ..... our support furniture has a high WAF (wife acceptance factor) as well as sounding excellent and being very versatile. No other manufacturer places as much emphasis on the "interior design aspect" of support furniture as we do. Most other support furniture tends to be very "industrial" looking. While that may be okay with some users, our clients demand a higher aesthetic.....

Technology and Features

Why do we need proper audio/video support furniture? When electrical signals are turned into sound by hi-fi equipment, unforeseen problems can arise. Living rooms and furnishings within the room influence the sound far more than most people would suspect. The sound quality of hi-fi equipment is often seriously affected by even the smallest vibrations originating either from the equipment itself or from the soundwaves generated by the loudspeakers and other electronic equipment.

The "Soundation HF technology" found in both our Soundation HF and AV series enables us to integrate high performance audio & video systems into modern interiors without compromising equipment performance or interior aesthetics. If audio & video equipment is to perform optimally it must be isolated from acoustic feedback. We use a combination of coupling, absorption and mechanical isolation to ensure maximum isolation.

All internal shelving is decoupled from the outer "isolation cradle" using ingenious adjustment bushings which also provide infinite shelf adjustment possibilities. This allows for critical levelling of sensitive equipment and maximum space utilization.

Material choice and construction quality in high performance support furniture of this nature is critical. We combine solid MDF, aluminium and steel to make the isolation cradle and shelving can be supplied in either heavy duty glass or MDF. The MDF frame elements can be finished in either cherry veneer or blackstone lacquer. The Soundation series are available as hi-fi stands, speaker stands or home theatre stands.
